One Hand, Many Hearts Capital Campaign
Denton County is one of the fastest growing counties in the nation. With this growth, we are seeing an increase in the number of child abuse investigations. We are at maximum capacity and must build more therapy and interview rooms to serve our community’s children.
CAPITAL CAMPAIGN - THE HOME STRETCH
Construction is Underway
In late December, the contract was signed with Denco Construction and we broke ground January 26, 2018. After three years of planning, the project is about to be a reality! Completion is anticipated in January 2019.

Mabee Foundation Challenge Grant
In July, 2017 we were awarded a $600,000 Challenge grant by the J.E. & L.E. Mabee Foundation in Tulsa. We are now within $808,000 of meeting the challenge to receive the $600,000 and finish our campaign. We have until July 11, 2018 to meet the goal. See our video to the right from Campaign Co-Chair Dianne Costa explaining how your donation goes further with this challenge!
We Have a Need to Expand
In 2017, we saw a 30% increase in child abuse investigations. Our Lewisville facility has exceeded capacity for both forensic interviews and therapy. Our therapy team sees more than 200 clients each week and needs additional space to expand those services. Our childcare space is also over capacity. Our Family Advocacy staff members provided twice as many services in 2017 as in 2016.
The One Hand, Many Hearts Capital Campaign will double the space for interview and observation rooms, therapy rooms, family waiting rooms and childcare areas. It is a $4 million initiative that will fund an addition of 11,000 square feet and renovation of 3,000 square feet to our Lewisville facility. To date, we have raised more than $2.4 million. If you would like to help, consider making a donation to our Capital Campaign. You can also spread your giving over a two-year period.
