Raisman is the second most decorated American gymnast of all-time with six total Olympic medals and one of two U.S. gymnasts to make back-to-back Olympic teams in more than 15 years.
A leader on and off the floor, Raisman uses her platform to promote positive body image and encourage everyone to be comfortable and confident in their own skin. In her New York Times best-selling memoir, – Fierce – she shares the highs and lows of her journey, including her survival of sexual abuse.
Recently, she came forward with her story of abuse, and put a spotlight on the systematic way she and her teammates were failed by adults around them. Her victim impact at the sentencing trial for her abuser spurred awareness of the issue of child sexual abuse. Raisman continues to share her story to help advocate for sexual abuse survivors and push for systematic changes within the sport of gymnastics.
